Mosaic As An Art Form

Aims:

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the skills of turning mosaic as a Craft into Mosaic as an Art Form.
You will learn how to choose a suitable subject and create a mosaic full of life and feeling
We will work not only from the head, but also from the heart.

Pre-requisite

Students must have completed Foundation Mosaic.

Topics

• Fine cutting techniques.
• When and how to blend colour.
• Use of tiles to achieve feeling and life within a piece of artistic Mosaic.
• use of different tools.

Duration

3 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Cost

Tuition: 240.00 or $30.00 per week.

Materials:

Glue,grout and thick-sheet additional cost and all available for purchase at the studio.

Materials to bring

1st Week

• Lead pencil.
• Coloured pencils, crayons or textas.
• Notebook.

2nd Week

• Tile pinchers.
• 2 old butter knives.
• Margarine/ice cream containers.
• Safety glasses.

Other materials to be brought as required

• Rubber gloves.
