Indirect Glass Mosaics

Aims:

The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to using glass tiles, smelti or tessare using the indirect method of fixing.

Pre-requisite

Students must have completed Foundation Mosaics.

Topics

Process of indirect method

Cutting and shaping techniques using glass.

Suitable applications for this method.

Duration

3 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Cost

Tuition: $240.00 or $30.00 per week.

Materials:

Glue, Grout and thick-sheet additional cost and all available for purchase at the Studio.

Materials to bring

1^st week

Lead pencil

Coloured pencil. Crayons or textas

Notebook

2nd week

Tile pinchers

2 old butter knives

Margarine/ice cream containers

safety glasses

Other materials to be brought as required

Rubber gloves.
